Love the watch. Love the service. Really love the price. A couple of months ago, I bought another watch from Amazon. Once I got it, I changed my mind on the style and returned it to Amazon. No problems. Easy return. All my money back. Then later, I decided to buy a more expensive watch (the Tag) and bought it knowing that Amazon would back it if I was not happy for any reason. Also, I felt secure that Amazon would not risk their reputation in selling me a replica/fake Tag. I bought it and love the watch even more than I thought. I like the styling and the brand. I am definitely keeping this one. This is my first experience in buying from Amazon and I will plan on more future purchases. What more could you ask for in an online store?

The Timex Watch Company

Timex Group B.V. is one of the best-known American watch companies. Timex's U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury Connecticut and it has substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the UK, France and Mexico.

The company began in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known during the nineteenth century as the "Switzerland of America." Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880. During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time.

During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. Over the next three decades, Timex was sold through a series of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the watch through "torture tests," such as falling over the Grand Coulee Dam or being strapped to the propeller of an outboard motor, with the slogan "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking." With the help of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales took off. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches.

The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality.

One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo® lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.

Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you.

About Tissot

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years.

Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers).

The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR.

Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. The major consumer magazine gave the Rolex an excellent review about 2 years ago and I concur. First, if as someone stated, their Rolex is off by 30 seconds a day, it is out of specs and Rolex will repair it. That same magazine gave it very high marks for accuracy. A Rolex is a piece of jewelry that is hand made beautifully, and tells time as well as is possible for a mechanical / automatic winding watch. It is truly water resistant and the currently used crystal is almost indestructible. I have had mine for about 10 years and I wear it 24 hours a day, every day.

It still shine like fine jewelry, which you won't get after a year or two with a copy, let alone after 10 years. The sweep second hand, fit and finish, and durability carry old world beauty. Maybe it can't be appreciated by some high tech only people, but this is one techy who truly appreciates it. Yes, they are expensive and not for everyone, but if you can appreciate it and have the money, it is worth it. Faces and hands can be changed by Rolex any time you want and when cleaned and checked after about 5 year, it comes back looking like it is brand new.

Set a course for adventure with this classic Omega Seamaster 300M stainless steel men's automatic chronometer watch, part of Omega's James Bond collection. You'll be able to negotiate all manner of adventures and still look stylish in the boardroom or at the baccarat table. This highly accurate, self-winding timepiece is also a great diving watch, with water resistance to 300 meters (1000 feet) and a helium escape valve, which allows helium to escape from inside the watch when the watch is worn in highly pressurized environments (such as long-term underwater work evading the bad guys).

The large silver rhodium-plated case measures 41mm wide (1.61 inches) and it's complemented by a handsome stainless steel bracelet band. A blue elapsed time unidirectional bezel frames a wavy blue dial that includes luminous dotted hour markers, luminous-tipped skeleton hands, and a date window at 3 o'clock. Other features include a 48-hour power reserve and scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal.

It's powered by Omega's break-through Co-Axial escapement. Developed in conjunction with master watchmaker George Daniels, it's based on double co-axial escape wheel, a lever with three pallet stones and impulse stone on the balance roller, together with a free sprung-balance. The Co-Axial escapement system reduces sliding friction compared with the lever escapement and thus ensures greater accuracy over time.

This watch also features the Omega 2500 caliber automatic movement, which has been certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Control). Only 3 percent of watches produced in Switzerland are "chronometer-certified." To achieve this highly coveted certification, the movements are subjected to numerous tests over a period of 15 consecutive days and nights, in five positions and at three different temperatures.

The Omega Story

The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.

I've got a few watches - all of them more expensive than this one and from well-respected watch makers. But this watch is my favorite. It looks good. It's accurate. The power save feature is really cool (I love the way the hands spin around to catch up when you shake it because its gone to sleep after 24 hours - very hip). But there is one thing that I REALLY love about this watch and that is that the date requires no resetting until the year 2100 (after that its just a simple change, though I'm guessing I won't be around to make the adjustment). I really wonder how many people think to reset the date on their watch when the first of the month rolls around - if you don't the date will become wrong pretty quickly since not all months have 31 days.

So, if you're like me, the date on a watch is useless most of the time because the only time I think about it is now and then when I want to confirm the date and, when I do that, I realize that the date may be wrong so I have to do some mental calculation to figure out the date, etc. etc. I mean, if I can figure out the date on my own, what's the point of having it on the watch? So I absolutely love that this watch automatically adjusts for leap years, months with 28, 29, 30, 31 days, AM/PM, etc. ensuring that the date is always correct.
I've never liked a watch so much. I wear it just about all the time. It's great!
